A recap of the points raised at last night's meeting, for those that were unable to attend.
COMMITTEE: Bertie will continue as chairman and Ant will continue as treasurer. Dustin is stepping down as fixtures secretary, and I have been voted in to replace him. The facebook group is now the official site of our league, taking over from the old website. If you have any players that are not on facebook, they can still keep up to date by visiting this blog at http://www.maidstonepool.com , where I will post the same information (minus the facebook comments).
SUMMER LEAGUE FORMAT: Same as usual, will consist of four mixed groups, with the top two teams in each group qualifying for the Summer Cup, and third and fourth teams qualifying for the Consolation Cup. The season will start on MONDAY 22ND MAY. The fixtures will be drawn up as soon as all team entries are confirmed.
No games are to be cancelled during the knockout stages, as there will be no time to re-arrange (same as last year).
Winning captains, please remember to text your result to Bertie on the night. It would also be useful if someone can comment your result on facebook, or message me, so the tables can be updated quickly.
RULE CHANGES / CLARIFICATIONS:
CLAIMED/AWARDED GAMES: It has been noted that a couple of teams felt 'hard done by', as they were unable to re-arrange matches, and therefore forced to take 6 points (4-0 win). It was decided that the number of points be increased to 7 (5-0 win), as a team needs to win five frames to win the match. Hopefully there won't be so many claimed/re-arranged matches to fit in, as there is no football this summer.

DOUBLES GAMES "NO TALKING" RULE: There has been no significant issues since this was introduced last season, and it will continue. There will be an exception; pairs will be allowed to discuss strategy/ which colour to take, on the shot immediately following the break. Some teams have come to a mutual agreement before a match, whether or not to allow talking during doubles. This is fine if both sides agree. If there are any issues, then please ring Bertie.
PRESENTATION NIGHT: Will be held at Lashings next Monday 8th May, starting at 8.30pm.
